Eldridge Street Synagogue

Oil, 30"x24", 1999

I love to paint the older buildings in New York and the Eldridge Street Synagogue is one of the more unique site's in the city, featuring wonderful Moorish architecture. It has received landmark status and is currently in the process of being restored while still being used as a center for worship, education and cultural events. Seeing the older sites saved from demolition, restored and used again gives me hope that the buildings that make New York City so unique will not disappear.
